Here are some terms to remember when ordering “Green” to-go carry out items:

• Bagasse is a sugar cane fiber pulp, left after the juice has been extracted from
the sugar cane stalk. Making tableware from this sugar cane pulp solves the
problem of waste, as well as creates a value added product from a material,
which has been treated as waste.

• CPLA is nature based Nature Works plastic made from corn, 100% biodegradable
and compostable.

• Potato Ware Cutlery is made from potato starch material. These products are
heat tolerant up to 250° f

• PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) is made from corn starch, with a look and feel like
petroleum based plastic. PLA is the most commonly used bio-plastic for making
products.

• PSM (Plastized Starch Material) can consist of up to 20% petroleum based resin,
such as Polyproplene. PSM is NOT biodegradable.

• Renewable & Sustainable Resources  Raw materials, such as corn and sugarcane,
that can be transplanted, harvested & replanted in a years time, versus trees,
which require years to grow.

• Biodegradable  Solid material that will degrade (breakdown), as a result of
natural bacteria activity and will disappear into the environment over a period of
time.

• Compostable  Solid biodegradable materials that decay into a nutrient-rich,
natural material under controlled conditions. This is done in a commercial
composting facility, utilizing controlled micro-organisms, humidity and temperature
